Sean McRae
Beginnings
I was born on February, 18 2000 in Los Angeles.
My father is multi-instrumentalist and my mother sang in church. My father taught me music, but I picked up a lot on the way. I began playing an instrument at age 8 and composing music at the age of 10, using demo versions of FL Studio 9 and Mixcraft.
3klo era
From 2010-2012, I went under the Moniker Econ/3klo. I spent most of my days playing games and making music at my Grandma’s house in Inglewood. I had a Dell Laptop and an eMachine desktop with the Demo Version of FL Studio 9 installed on both. I learned sequencing on my brother’s trial copy of Mixcraft (which he wasn’t too happy about), then My Dad introduced me to MIDI and that really opened up my world.
Influences: Victor Wooten, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker/Steps Ahead, Video Game Music (Zelda, Metroid, Need For Speed, Test Drive Unlimited, Mortal Kombat), Skrillex.
Genres: Drum And Bass, Techno/Electronica, Rock
Instruments: Ensoniq MR61 Keyboard, Hartke 4-String Modern PJ Bass.
XLR STONE ERA (2012-2015)
In 2012, I had moved to a new place. My eMachine died and I was quite upset about it, but I ended up with a Dell Dimension which had a Pentium 4 CPU and AGP graphics. I eventually moved onto FL 11 (Still the demo version lol)
Around this time I met a few friends on Xbox 360 and started a Gaming Clan called XLR (I don’t remember where XLR came from, but it sounded cool), so I became XLR STONE.
Influences: C418 (Minecraft), Call of Duty, Battlefield, Forza, Gran Turismo, GRID
Genres: Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Breakbeat/Jungle, Electronic, Video Game
Around 2014, I lost the data that was on my hard drives, but most of the music I made from this era I still have.
