The conception

Forest_1.png

As a child, I would have many dreams, some scary and some truly wonderful. I wanted to share them with others, but I had trouble conveying the complexities of the dreams. in 2007, I had a nightmare where I saw a disturbing ghostly creature and it grabbed me in a way that compelled me to draw it (Unfortunately, I do not have the original drawing, but I can still recall the monster).

That aside, in 2017, ten years after, I had moved into a new apartment and my dreams became more frequent and detailed. Then, the idea sparked in my mind once again to draw, so I drew.

Yes! I did it, I can convey what I saw in my sleep! But what did I really achieve? I just drew some stuff, nothing special. They look like a child’s normal drawings. I could have easily drawn this when I was 7.

I wanted more, I wanted to tell a story.

I felt a need to go further…

a start.

I began watching videos on how to improve my drawing, purchased a tablet and started sketching things out on my PC.

I also would type out short stories and lores for my characters on my phone.

A lot of my work involves sitting or lying down and reaching deep memories, grabbing as much from my dreams as I can recall and putting the pieces together, then writing a story based off the events in the dream and sometimes drawing it out. Okay, now we’re at least getting somewhere, But I’m still not satisfied with it.

Fast forward to 2018.
